The orphan children in this home are all deaf. Most of these children were orphaned when one or both parents died from HIV/AIDS. Others lost their parents to malaria or other diseases, and some were abandoned by parents unable to afford to provide for their special needs. Some were rescued from child slavery. They are all malnourished and thin. They are glad to have a safe place to live and food to eat and are receiving special education for their impairment. Most have now learned to read and write,but without this home this is a reality that would have never occured. We are currently in the process of buiding a dining and cooking hall for this home.
